Video CDs

Video CDs offer the same video quality as VHS but do not degrade after repeated playings. Each CD can hold up to 74 minutes of video and the MPEG 1 codec is used for encoding. This medium is the perfect choice for archiving VHS tapes or to use as promotional material since they are cheaper to duplicate than DVDs, however they can be played back on most standard DVD players and can last between 40 to 100years.
